The Regina Highland Games

Skagit Valley Highland Games
Held at Mount Vernon, WA, these games attract bands from all over the Pacific Coast, and in 1999 and 2001 the City of Regina Pipe Band was the "guest band" at the Games.

Pacific Northwest Scottish Games This excellent 2-day event featured SFU, City of Regina, and RMM as the guest bands in 2000.

Piping Today This is the magazine of the National Piping Center in Glasgow. It is published in partnership with "The Living Tradition" folk magazine, and it has some good features, strong editorial, and great look.

The VOICE This is the magazine of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association.

The Piping Times
Published by the College of Piping in Glasgow, Scotland. Caustic editorials, good history features, and too many ads, but a classic read. Edited by Robert Wallace.

Common Stock
The journal of the Lowland and Borders Piping Society.

Roots/Traditional Music

Shona LeMottee Shona played the 2007 MWCF with sideman Tim Readman, and they were great! Shona is an excellent player and instructor, and performs across North America.

Kendra MacGillivray Kendra is a fabulous fiddler in the Cape Breton style from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She and her brother Troy performed at the 1999 and 2000 Mid-Winter Celtic Festival.

Troy MacGillivray
We had Troy out to the MWCF a couple of times with sister Kendra, and then we hosted a concert on one of his solo tours.

Ashley MacLeod
Ashley is a great young fiddler from Glengarry, ON. She performed with the SFU Pipe Band for a couple of years, and we had her to the MWCF in 2006.
