WANTED: LEAD DRUMMER
AND DRUM INSTRUCTOR

The Person
The City of Regina Pipe Band is looking for an experienced and skilled lead drummer/drum instructor for its rebuilding Grade 2 band and for the Grade 4 teaching program. The ideal candidate would have experience playing in a Grade 1 or 2 band, and experience teaching snare drumming. The person we want is intelligent, energetic, motivated and passionate about pipe band music and teaching. You should be a people-friendly self-starter who can work well with both adults and children, and you should have experience doing both.

The Lead Drummer Role
As lead drummer, you will work with existing band leadership to develop a drum corps and overall musical program for Grade 2 competition, as well as a concert/performance repertoire for other performances.

The Teaching Role
The Grade 2 band plays a large role in the development of our Grade 4 band, The Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band. As instructor, you would be paid to teach and organize a snare drumming program. You would also have opportunity to teach private lessons. The Grade 4 program is the future for the Grade 2 band. It would be in your hands.

The Band
The City of Regina Pipe Band has been around since September 1992. We have been continously Saskatchewan Champion since 1993 (our first season), and have won prizes at Highland Games in many places across Canada, the USA and Scotland. All the details are on this web site. After two back-to-back trips to Scotland, we are rebuilding, and we need somebody with the right stuff to do the job with us.

Band Assests
The City of Regina Pipe Band has a solid financial and community record. We have a brand new [2006] set of 7 Premier HTS700 snares, three tenors and a bass. We have complete uniform, practice facilities, and excellent members.

The City
Regina is a city of close to 300 000, and it has a lot to offer in terms of employment, lifestyle and opportunity. Visit Tourism Regina to take a look around. There is a great web site called Life in Canada that is focussed on life in Regina, and the many benefits and amenities of life in the city. See also Regina Facts.
